SEO a dirty word or what?
When I started my seo business several years ago, it was a technical service provided by trained engineers who understood how Google rated and listed websites. Disappointingly, it didn’t take long for sales organisations to setup seo services and packages and everything became very disjointed.
The SEO business has a huge image problem and unfortunately that won’t go away anytime soon.
The best advice I can give to anyone looking for a good seo consultant is to look beyond companies trying to sell you a solution.
A good seo consultant will want to help you form the best marketing strategy for your website online first before undertaking any form of seo. If you don’t have the right strategy in place from the off, it won’t make any difference where your website is displayed on search engines like Google. Popular Search Engines such as Google can easily track how visitors interact with your website today and if visitors don’t react positively to the information provided by you, Google can quickly re-adjust your rankings accordingly.
If you just want to ‘sell’ something, Google won’t be that interested in doing you any favors, but if you develop a great strategy around providing all the information web visitors need to make positive and informed choices, Google will love and reward you for it.
Believing everything can be achieved just by improving seo alone, won’t get you very far.
